Pretty Little Projects

After two big quilting projects in two months time, I felt the need to do some small sewing. Some ‘just for me’ sewing. I spent an entire day last week pulling fabrics and making pretty little combos for patchwork coasters.

This set was made with a recent Liberty Society bundle from Ava and Neve and added to with a beautiful scrap pack that I got in July. The blues, grays, purples and bit of green are so soothing to look at.

Since this was “just for fun” sewing, I decided to pull all my Betsy and Capel Liberty prints to make a set of coasters out of them. It made for two warm and two cool, a fun coaster set.

Each one is soft and has just the right amount of puff to them. I wonder, is it just us quilters who enjoy the look of patchwork or does it bring comfort and a feeling of nostalgia to others as well.

I added bits of trim to each set for an added touch of sweetness. This one has a beautiful vintage golden yellow crochet to it.

Backed with ticking stripe fabric for the perfect touch of classic.

This set in green, pinks and yellows has found their place around our home. There is something so good about just sewing for fun, a small project that can be done in a day, using pretty colors and tiny trim and bits of charm. Reminds me to slow down and enjoy the little things.

I have two sets that will be available in my Etsy Shop shortly and are looking to brighten up someones home. For now, I think I will do one more small sewing project before I start on my next big quilt.

These are so pretty. And yes I hear you, sometimes sewing just for yourself is just what the doctor ordered.
